I am proud to be one of a handful of Autism Centers of Excellence (ACE) designated by the Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA). In the state of Washington, Apple Health (Medicaid) patients seeking Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy for autism spectrum disorders must receive their initial diagnosis from a Center of Excellence in order for ABA services to be eligible for reimbursement. In order to qualify as a Center of Excellence, a provider must have demonstrated expertise in diagnosing autism spectrum disorders using validated diagnostic tools, conduct comprehensive evaluations, and develop multidisciplinary clinical treatment plans in accordance with WAC 182-531-1418 (2). As an ACE, I am currently assessing and diagnosing ASD in children ages 0 to 17. I am not currently accepting adult patients who have not been previously diagnosed with ASD.
